Announcing the EO4SDG Board
The EO4SDG Initiative is pleased to announce the selections of its new Board. Board members’ expertise, background, and vision will help advance the goals and priorities of the initiative, spanning strategic direction-setting to tactical aspects, helping us realize the potential of Earth observations and geospatial information to advance the United Nations 2030 Agenda through achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The EO4SDG Initiative received many nominations from experts across sustainable development, in Earth science and geospatial information, representatives of government, and others. The review committee composed of the EO4SDG co-chairs and executive director weighed aspects of professional background and expertise, geographical representation, vision, gender balance and other diversity factors when reviewing nominations.
The Board will meet in the next few weeks to discuss strategy and select one or two of its members to serve as lead(s). Board members and lead(s) will serve a two-year term with a maximum of two terms.
The Earth Observations and Sustainable Development communities are invited to follow along and stay engaged to help advance the goals of the EO4SDG Initiative.
About the EO4SDG Initiative Board
The EO4SDG Board is established as a means to secure the counsel of community experts across diverse areas on matters related to Earth observations, geospatial information and sustainable development. The Board provides initiative-level support and serves interests of the EO4SDG Initiative, spanning strategic direction-setting to tactical aspects. Board members catalyze and motivate activities and progress, including promoting dynamic communication with EO4SDG members to increase participation in the initiative.
