GEO SDG Awards: Nominations Deadline Extended to July 15
There is still time to submit nominations for the GEO SDG Awards Program to help recognize innovation in the use of Earth observations to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). The deadline is extended to July 15, 2019. Award recipients will be recognized during the GEO Week 2019, 4-9 November in Canberra, Australia.
Organized by the Earth Observations for the Sustainable Development Goals (EO4SDG) Initiative from the GEO Work Programme, the Earth Observations for SDG Awards Program recognizes productivity, ingenuity, proficiency, novelty and exemplary communications of results and experiences in the use of Earth observations to support sustainable development. This will be indicated by progress towards an SDG Target and/or progress towards, and reporting on, an SDG Indicator.
Anyone in the extended GEO community can submit a nomination. All GEO member countries and all organizations within a specific sectoral category are eligible for nomination. This includes GEO Member countries, GEO Participating organizations, SDG custodian agencies, GEO Work Programme elements, non-profit organizations and academic institutions. Awardees will receive non-monetary prizes and international recognition for their efforts.
