5th World Data Forum: 12-15 November

The United Nations World Data Forum, UNWDF 2024 is the most important event of the international data and statistics community. Held every two years in different countries, it convenes experts in data and statistics from governments, civil society, private sector, national and international agencies, media and academia. Recognized globally as a crucial space for exchanging experiences in the field of statistics and data, this event aims to drive innovation, foster strategic partnerships, mobilize political and financial support, and build a path to stronger data for sustainable development.

Co-hosted by the UN Statistical Commission and DANE Colombia, the hybrid forum is being held in Medellin, Colombia. The 4 thematic areas the agenda is broken down into are:

  • – Innovation for better and more inclusive data
  • – Maximizing the use and value of data for better decision making
  • – Building trust, protection and ethics in data
  • – Effective partnerships for better data and a more equitable data ecosystem
